Africa faces 86m-tonne fuel shortfall by 2040

Africa is projected to face an 86 million-tonne fuel shortfall by 2040 as import dependence rises, according to the Africa Finance Corporation.

The report warns that over 70% of refined fuel is currently imported, exposing the continent to global supply chokepoints and price shocks.
