Remain in Labour party if you want to retain your seat ,pastor Schugger tells Otti
by Collins Nkwocha
Abia State Governor Alex Otti has been making waves with his remarkable transformation of the state, earning him widespread admiration. Under his leadership, Abia has seen significant infrastructural development, including over 140 roads constructed or rehabilitated, improved healthcare facilities, and enhanced education services
Otti’s focus on transparency and accountability has boosted investor confidence, attracting development partners and donor agencies. His administration has also prioritized economic growth, youth empowerment, and restoring public trust in governance
Pastor Schugger Ezenwa Onyeukwu has urged Otti to remain with the Labour Party, citing the potential risks of decamping to the ruling APC, which could impact his re-election bid. Otti has denied rumors of joining the APC, reaffirming his commitment to the Labour Party’s ideals and serving Abia State.
Speaking to newsmen today in Lagos, pastor Schugger maintained that it’s corrupt governors that are looking for protections that are defecting “most of the governors you see defecting are the corrupt ones who have impoverished their states with embezzlement and sees joining APC as a cover for the sins they committed, they don’t want to be exposed and probed, that’s why they have decided to join APC to get the necessary covers, you don’t need this because you’ve shown enormous transparency and accountability “
He further enunciated that joining APC could make him lose the massive support he enjoys from the people at the moment “your people loves you dearly because you gave them what they’ve never enjoyed before as the only governor of Labour party, the people from the East don’t like APC ,especially people from your state, joining APC will divide your loyalists and supporters and this would be inimical and detrimental to your second term ambition”.
