Late renown author Cyprian Ekwensi home town Nkwelle ezunaka elects new 10man executives

Nkwelle Ezunaka one of the numerous towns that make up Anambra State and the hometown of one of the Nigeria renown author and one time Anambra state commissioner of information and culture Chief Cyprian Ekwensi Last Christmas season elected a new ten man executives to Oversee affairs of the town in the next three years.
The election which was keenly contested under a free and fair atmosphere which was also supervised by officials of the Anambra State government from the office of the Anambra State commissioner of local government, chieftaincy and town union matters Dr Collins Nwabunwanne as well as ASATU the umbrella body of all town unions president general in Anambra State and the press saw the emergency of the followings;
1.Ogbuefi Sir Vitalis Nwakobi- president general (2)Ogbuefi Onyeka Eluemunoh-ist vice president (3)Elder Mike Eneanya okoye -2nd vice president (4)Comrade Tulugo Okafor- Secretary(5)Kenneth Anyaegbuna – asst secretary (6)Chief Chukwujekwu Okoye –financial secretary (7)Chief John Okegbo – Treasurer (8)Mr Chijioke Emesiani-PRO (9)Chief Uche Orefo- provost (10)Mr Chinonso Machie – provst (2)
Speaking after the conclusion of the election and announcement of the results, the outgoing president general Ogbuefi Willie Okafor who now is the new Traditional prime minister (Onowu) of the town thanked God for guiding the community to successfully elect a new executives despite challenges.While congratulating the new executives, he urged them to carry everybody along both losers and winners stressing that they are brothers and sisters in pursuit of development of the town.
Said he, “I appealed to you the new executives, to regard this as no winner no losers exercise, I want them to understand that whatever that has happened is for the development of our dear community, let them know that we should move forward as united brothers and sisters”.
Also speaking in an acceptance speech, the new president general Ogbuefi Vitalis Nwakobi thanked God for a successful election and assured that he and his executives will pursue policies that will promote peace and brotherliness as well as development in the town.He promised to carry everybody along and as well as address the issue of land grabbing, youths restiveness, security adding that he will run an open administration where accountability and positive developments of the town will be given top priority.
