The Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas (PiCNG) has rolled out over 40 zero-emission electric buses for public transport across selected states.

PiCNG Chairman Barr. Ismaeel Ahmed said the move positions Nigeria as home to Africa’s largest electric vehicle fleet and supports President Tinubu’s goals of reducing transport costs, diversifying energy, and boosting clean mobility. He pledged rapid expansion of both electric and CNG vehicles nationwide in 2026.
