Youths vow to resist moves to disband Agunechemba, to make Anambra ungovernable

Youths across the 179 communities in Anambra State converged at Light House,l in Awka, the state capital to make a statement of their readiness to resist any move to disband the State government-controlled Agunechemba and disarm its operatives. Speaking during the Anambra Youth Solidarity Rally with the theme, ‘Anambra is Ours, and Anambra We Serve,’ the convener His youthfulness Comrade Ken Okoli contended absence of security would jeopardize the good works being done by governor Chukwuma Soludo. . Addressing the governor, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Saturday, Okoli observed that the youths and communities have the right to decide whether the State government is working or not, but not for unpatriotic politicians and individuals. “We are here to discuss the issue on ground and express ourselves to Ndi Anambra in solidarity rally in support of the government. ‘We also organised this rally to make our voice to be heard that Operation Udogaachi and Agunaecmba should remain as part of the security agencies providing solution in our security. “
According to him, Agunechema is a body saddled with responsibility of protecting luves and property in the 179 communities while Udogachi is a joint policing team. The ASTUC youth boss, however, condemned the assault meted to the member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) calling on the authorities to ensure that only those that participated in the ugly act of molestation bear responsibility of their acts rather than the entire entity. He recalled that the police have disclosed that the said culprits have been arrested and are being questioned, in police custody urging the public to allow the police and court to prosecute and decide on the matter.
” we will not take because of errors of some people and disband the operative, but those responsible should face the law. Okoli further said: ‘ Our brothers in politics should go ahead and concentrate on what they will do for ndi anambra and not campaigning for disbandment of Operation Udogachi.
” They are making protest to make sure that operation Udo Ga-Chi should be disbanded before the November 8, 2025 election to make the state ungovernable to stay/and to enable the State fail in area of security for them to manipulate and re-. results.’ He concluded. He commended the effort of the the State government in providing security for the state.
He also called on the people to come together to unite in repositioning the State ad part of their support for the developmental revolution if governor Soludo..
