Jeff Nweke Pays Campaign Fee, Ready for Election

The Governorship Candidate of Action Alliance (AA), Ozo Jeff Nweke, has expressed readiness to kick-start his gubernatorial campaign in full force after paying the mandatory N50m imposed on parties taking part in the November 8 Governorship Election in Anambra State by the Government.
Nweke, who paid the fee on Friday, June 27, at the office of the Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency, ANSAA, was represented by his running-mate, Mr Obi Elvis Anayochukwu and some party members.
Nweke became the fourth contestant to pay the fee, despite faulting it as illegal. But after paying it, he said the last hurdle had been passed, as he prepared to take the state by storm in the run up to the election in November.
He is now eligible to mount campaign posters on billboards, distribute handbills, use branded vehicles and print shirts and caps, as well as other souvenirs across the 326 electoral wards of the Anambra State.
He expressed confidence in emerging victorious in the coming poll, saying his payment of the fee was to avoid any obstacle standing in his way to taking over the Government House after the election.
Nweke, a security expert, said the election was between his party, AA, and others; even as he said it was the people of the state that would have the final choice of electing the right person to salvage the state from the doldrums of poor leadership.
Nweke, who sees himself as a David that will down the Goliath in the coming election, does not mind being seen as an underdog, as long as his electoral appeal resonates with the voters. Last Thursday, he was endorsed by many support groups at an event in Awka, a development he sees as a prelude to a successful outing in the Gubernatorial race.
