M.V. Ocean Dragon, Nigeria’s first indigenous container vessel, has docked at Tin Can Island Port in Lagos, carrying over 350 containers.

The 349-TEU capacity vessel, operated by Clarion Shipping, is set to boost coastal and regional trade, serving routes across West Africa and potentially Egypt and South Africa. Clarion Vice President Benedine Eloka said the initiative aims to ease logistics for Nigerian traders. Bookings are already underway, with a second vessel to sail directly from China to Lagos.
