FIDA Holds Inaugural Lectures At UNIZIK.

The International Federation of Women Lawyers held their inaugural lectures at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University auditorium yesterday to create awareness of the female gender and the vices affecting their overall rights and development.
The event was organised in order to empower the female law students and and also train them in every aspect of life.The event attracted dignitaries like Amara Moujeke (MCARB, LLB), Dr Francis Chidozie Okoye( CEO, doman strata properties Ltd), pro Ogugua vc Ikpeze (PHD, BL, DBA, MBA)and others. They all graced the event as they spoke on different themes to woman empowerment and skills.

The first speaker in person of Amara Moujeke spoke on the theme: the role of women in FIDA( International Federation of Women Lawyers) and women as catalyst for global change said that it’s not theoretical idea but practical and it is giving women the tools they need to thrive alongside men, as well as giving voice to the voiceless and justice to women. She spoke about what FIDA have achieved so far and amongst many are few which are legal advancement and legal advocacy for domestication of law in fighting for the women, young girls and widowed hood. She concluded her speech with women lawyers not being just lawyers but also life line.

A spoken word was given by Ofeliti Chinemerem titled “the last struggle of women being deprived of opportunities because they’re women” followed by others.
The second speaker, Dr Francis Chidozie spoke on the topic establishing female army for global change and urged everyone to start to perfect and not perfect to start. Other speakers included Oscar Ozolibe( founder of Apex Tech hub) who spoke on women in tech and many more other things women can do in tech, BLDR Benjamin Oyekunle Oyefemi( chairman and founder of Realown Realty Ltd) who spoke on real estate management as a tool women should thrive in and the procurements required to run a real estate and housing finance reforms and grafting of legal realtor.
The events ended with the inaugration and oat taking of the new Executives of FIDA and awards in recognition to the women who have made remarkable impacts on the organisation FIDA. The speakers encouraged women to widen their horizons in different areas of life and live up to standards.
