Court Orders Saipem to Pay N151m for Rights Violation

A Rivers State High Court has awarded N151 million in damages and costs against Saipem Construction Company for unlawfully detaining Ernest Omuso-Ibimo at its Rumuolumeni base on November 29. Justice Stephen Jumbo ruled the detention violated Omuso-Ibimo’s fundamental rights and ordered a public apology from the company.
