A NEW DAWN BECKONS: ACHALLA RALLIES BEHIND HON DR CHARLES OKADIGBO AS HE DECLARES FOR PRESIDENT GENERAL

Achalla community in Awka North, Anambra State witnessed an unprecedented solidarity today as Hon. Dr. Charles Okadigbo (Okanume) officially declared his intention to contest for the position of President General of Achalla Town Union. The electrifying atmosphere, the resounding chants of support, and the large turnout at the venue painted a clear picture: the people have made their choice.
With the gathering attended by a wide cross-section of Achalla society—youths from all the villages led by their youth chairman, the esteemed Ndi Alor society, the Igwe-in-Council led by Onowu Achalla, Hon John Nwokoye and prominent stakeholders including Chief Lawrence Onwuzuka, APGA leader in Awka North—the event was nothing short of a political earthquake.
Also in attendance was the formidable contingent of Achalla women, led by the Woman PG, Princess Ifeoma Favour Nwokedi, whose presence further reaffirmed the widespread acceptability of Chief Okadigbo’s candidacy.
In his powerful address, Chief Okadigbo bemoaned the current state of affairs in Achalla, citing a growing wave of dissatisfaction and distrust under the present leadership. He emphasized that his mission is to restore unity, peace, and progress, anchored on three cardinal pillars:
Enhanced Security
Lasting Peace
Infrastructural Development
“Achalla must be salvaged. Our people deserve better, and under my watch, they will get the leadership they deserve,” he said to roaring applause. “July 12th will mark the beginning of a new dawn. Our journey to restore Achalla starts now.”
He also promised to run an open, transparent administration in alignment with Governor Soludo’s vision for a livable and prosperous Anambra State.
Setting the tone for what many described as the biggest endorsement rally in recent memory, Chief Samuel Nweke opened the floor with a stirring declaration of support for Hon. Dr Okadigbo. He condemned the current PG’s administration, accusing it of losing touch with the people and fostering division. “His time is up. The people have rejected failure and embraced a new hope,” Chief Nweke declared.
Echoing this sentiment, both Hon. Nwokoye and Chief Onwuzuka described Chief Okadigbo as the only viable alternative, a unifying force whose leadership qualities, past records, and vision stand head and shoulders above the rest.
Some dignitaries present includes; Chief JOHN Ekwezor (ide Achalla); Engr. Ken Odezulu, Nnanyelugo, Agu dime na Achalla; Ozo Chinedu Okadigbo, PRO Igwe-In-Council; Mr Boniface Chigbo, fmr PG Achalla; amongst others.
The highlight of the occasion came when Chief Onwuzuka and Hon. John Nwokoye jointly raised Chief Okadigbo’s hand high before the cheering crowd—a symbolic endorsement that sent a clear message: Achalla is ready for a new direction.
The event concluded with a symbolic unity walk, as Chief Okadigbo, flanked by Achalla youths, marched across the village squares, greeted with chants, songs, and waves from community members—proof that the heart of Achalla beat strongly in his favour.
As the sun sets on today’s declaration, one thing is clear: Achalla is ready for change, and Hon. Chief Charles Okadigbo is the man to lead the charge into a brighter, united future.
