Ibeto Commissions two projects by Nnewi North LGA Chairman, commends Mayor

Chief Cletus Ibeto, a renowned businessman and community leader, has commissioned two critical infrastructure projects in Nnewi North Local Government Area.
The projects was executed by the Nnewi North Local Government, under the leadership of Hon. Echezona Anazodo to mitigate erosion and floodwater challenges in the community.
Chief Ibeto, who also took the time to go around and inspect other ongoing projects of the current Nnewi North LGA leadership, expressed absolute satisfaction at the pace of work. He also averred his total confidence in the Nnewi North LGA Chairman, while assuring of his continued and full support to the Chairman, Hon. Echezona Anazodo.
“I am solidly behind the Mayor. If he makes a promise and doesn’t do it, I will do it double. Let’s fight for the progress of our community,” Chief Ibeto said, declaring his unhindered support to the LGA Chairman.
The two projects which are in line with Hon. Echezona Anazodo administration’s focus on infrastructure, were aimed at controlling erosion and flood water in parts of the Nnewi North Local Government Area.
Recently, flood water has constituted a major challenge to different communities in Nnewi, leading to losses and the threat of more devastating consequences. In response, the Chairman of Nnewi North LGA, Hon. Echezona Anazodo embarked on the construction of a massive channel to control the flood water in Oduda Nnewichi, where the flood water had caused significant chaos.
This situation which has forced some people out of their homes in the Oduda community of Nnewichi quarter in Nnewi, has also caused loss of goods and properties of residents of the community.
However, following an assessment of the site a little over two weeks ago by the Nnewi North Executive Chairman, Hon. Anazodo, and the supervisory councilor on works, for Nnewi North LGA, Hon. Amobi Adukwulu, the present Nnewi North administration was able to bring succor to the community within sixteen days, with the construction of a giant channel and drainages which has now arrested the situation.
The commissioning of the project was attended by the President General of the Oduda community, Mr. Ikechukwu Obi, the President General of the Nnewichi Community, Chief Surge Egbuna, and the President General of Nnewi, Chief Jude Osumuo. In their speeches, all commended the Nnewi North Mayor for his focused leadership. In his speech, the Nnewi North LGA Chairman emphasized that he is committed to the people.
“It is the mandate you gave me that I am using to work. We are not campaigning. Any project we embark on, we will finish on record time”, Hon. Echezona Anazodo said.
The other project commissioned by Chief Cletus Ibeto is the Ukwaka Bridge in Umudim Nnewi. This is an important link road but has been under intense pressure from flood water. This has caused the bridge to always collapse and is in perpetual need of palliative work.
This time, the Nnewi North LGA leadership has provided a lasting solution with the construction of a solid channel and an expansion of the flood water track to ensure stability and sustainability of the bridge which had once more collapsed only recently.
Now, it has been fully reconstructed and restored by the Nnewi North LGA leadership. Impressed by the quality of work he saw, Chief Cletus Ibeto said that Hon. Echezona Anazodo has redefined local government administration in Nnewi.
Chief Ibeto was also led by the local government chairman, Hon. Echezona Anazodo, and members of his team, to inspect an ongoing road construction and projects designed to reposition and modernize Nnewi’s main market.
