𝗔𝗡𝗦𝗔𝗖𝗔 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗛𝗜𝗩 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝘁 𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗭𝗜𝗞,𝗢𝗸𝗼𝗳𝗶𝗮 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘆
The Anambra State AIDS Control Agency (ANSACA) has continued its drive to expand access to HIV prevention and care by providing free HIV testing and counselling services during the recent graduation ceremony of the Department of Human Physiology, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, Okofia Campus.
The outreach, carried out as part of the ceremony, enabled graduating students, other students, members of staff and guests to know their HIV status in a safe, confidential and supportive environment.
Participants received comprehensive health education, pre- and post-test counselling, as well as information on HIV prevention, treatment and available support services aimed at promoting informed health decisions and reducing the spread of HIV.
The initiative underscores ANSACA’s commitment to promoting early HIV testing, expanding access to quality healthcare services and strengthening community-based interventions to reduce new HIV infections and improve health outcomes across Anambra State.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment to building a healthier and more informed society through sustained public enlightenment, community engagement and expanded access to HIV prevention, testing, treatment and care services.
ANSACA also acknowledged the enabling environment provided by the administration of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, whose commitment to strengthening the state’s healthcare system continues to enhance the delivery of public health programmes that improve the well being of Ndi Anambra.
The agency urged residents to know their HIV status, embrace regular testing, reject stigma and discrimination, and support efforts to ensure that no one is left behind in the fight against HIV.
Together, we can build a healthier Anambra by knowing our status, ending HIV stigma and ensuring access to quality healthcare for all.
