Aguata Anglican Youth Fellowship: Bishop Ezeofor abolishes local helper in Anglican Communion, Masquerades

www.odogwublog.com reports that the President of the first session of the 5th Synod and 2nd Bishop of Aguata Diocese , Anambra state , Right Rev. Samuel Ezeofor has abolished the existence of local Church helpers in the diocese of Aguata even as he made Bible study every Sunday morning compulsory.

This was disclosed by the President, Aguata Diocesan Council of the Youth Fellowship Nigeria (AYF) Anglican Communion, Bro Moses Nnanyelugo Akam during the 13th annual Aguata diocesan AYF Bible study conference at St Peter’s Anglican Church , Umunze.
According to Bro Akam, Bishop Ezeofor also urge the youths to desist from idol worship and patronizing masquerades in the diocese. He asked those serving as local Church helpers now but still interested to apply to formalize their engagement.
Sunday Vanguard reports that Ezeofor as well has abolished Church wedding before traditional marriage.
On his part as President of AYF Aguata diocese, Bro Akam abolished holding of two positions by one person in the Youth fellowship even as he mandated Archdeaconry leaders who were elected for a third term to step down with immediate effect as there is no 3rd term in AYF and it would not be tolerated.
He encouraged them to elect a credible leaders who shall take over from him and other executives by December 15th, 2018 his second tenure in office ends adding that the issue of age, morality, and sincerity would not be compromised.
‘’….furthermore, I want to caution that we must not bring into this fellowship any kind of inducement or influences of members by given money or any type of bribe in order to win election for God will not take it lightly with any person of such intension and character , and we must ensure we are not an instrument to that in anyway. I repeat , this is the body of Christ and therefore we must strive to keep away the worthily standard an pattern from this fellowship….’’.

The Aguata diocesan AYF President lamented the wanton destruction of lives and property in Nigeria by herdsmen and bandits without the government doing anything to stop the bloodletting even as he appealed to youths to register and get their PVC’s in order to participate actively in the 2019 election. He warmed youths not to avail themselves to be use as tool for evil execution.
  
Bro Akam thanked Right Rev Dr Samuel Ezeofor , Bishop of Aguata and wife , Mrs Chinyere Huldah Ezeofor ; Ven Steve.C Nnadi, Archdeacon of Umunze Archdeaconry; Rev Osita Nwofia , Chaplain Aguata diocesan Youth council; Rev ThankGod Onwuka , Assistant Chaplain Aguata diocesan youth council; Rev Canon and Mrs Decency Chine host vicar ; Sister Patience Okereke Secretary Aguata diocesan Youth Council ; Bro Mmaduabuchi Ofobuike, Chairman Central Planning committee ; and Bro Chibuzor Nkwodike Leader Umunze Archdeaconry among others for their support for the success of the conference.
Speaking on the theme of the 3 day conference , ‘’Power for Exploit’’  the Chairman on the occasion and President-General, Umunze Progressive Union (UPU), Chief John Akanyeonu, warned youths on the dangers of cultism and other occultist groups they belong to gain power but emphasized that where one gets power from determines the type of exploits the person does with it. He said other powers are “might” but God’s power is “Almighty power”.

The President-General advised fellow Nigerians on the importance of permanent voters’ card and the need to have one as the 2019 general election draws closer , even as he decried the increasing rate at which Nigerians distance themselves from acquiring their voter card, when it is the only instrument that  citizens can use to either retain or oust bad leaders.
On the raving issue of trading vote for money, chief Akanyeonu described the attitude as miscalculation of value and lack of foresight.
“Nigerians trade their vote for money because they are ignorant of the implications of their actions. How can you trade your valued right, the right that can change your condition for a paltry two thousand naira that can barely serve two days meal? It is foolish for anyone to engage in this kind of act.

On his part, the Deputy National Coordinator/Southern Nigeria Leader, Atiku Forum, Amb. Okechukwu Dominic Ofoezie accompanied by the South East Coordinator, Hon Bedford Nwankwo appeale to the youths to support the former Vice President , Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as he has the solution for Nigeria’s problems today.
Amb Ofoezie commended the Director Atiku forum campaign/National Director and National Leader Atiku forum , Alhaji Umar Pariya for the great mobilization and galvanizing of support for Atiku’s presidential bid come 2019 even as he enjoined the Anglican youths to join in the mobilization for Atiku’s presidency. He said the insolence and massacre by herdsmen would be a thing of the past should Atiku emerge victorious in the election.
The Vicar of St Peter’s Anglican Church Lomu, Umunze Rev Canon Decency Chine who conducted the Holy Eucharist encouraged Anglican youths to serve God in their youths and place God first no matter the situation.
In a vote of thanks, the Secretary Aguata diocesan Youth council , Sis Patience Okereke described the theme of the three day bible conference ‘’Power for Exploits’’ as written in Act.1:8 as apt, noting that aside setting apart for scriptural upliftment , they used the opportunity to do community service and bond as youths of same faith from different parishes.
Sis Patience encouraged members to continue to look unto Jesus by perfecting their character towards becoming a perfect man and always be prayerful.

Rev Chibuike Ekwonye , Hon Nnanyere Dim, Comrade Okey Nzeabafor, Chief Osita Okoro, Hon Friday Nwajiaku, Onyebuchi Nnakwe were among prominent people that attended the conference.
