Strange: Oduga Spring Water Disappears in Umuzu, Mbana Otolo Nnewi , Burning Coals Emerge

 www.odogwublog.com reports that the people of Umuzu Mbana Otolo, Nnewi North Council Area have sent a save our soul message to the state government over the mysterious disappearance of Oduga Spring Water and emergence of burning coals and smoke emission from the spring water site.

Thick smoke is still emitting from the rocks that is supposed to bring out drinking water for the people.

Oduga spring water which is regarded as the best drinking and only source of water for the community and its environs, have stopped bringing out water, but smoke.

According to a report, in December 2017, the Villagers perceived a strange odour but did not know where it was coming from, until after some months when the members of the community came to fetch water from the spring and met rocks at the site burning.

Recounting their Ordeal, the President General Umuzu Mbana Otolo Nnewi, Honourable Tony Muodielo, said when they were alerted of the development, they met burning coals at the site while, the stones covering the area have been destroyed and fallen off.

He narrated all their efforts to put out the fire, but regretted that after much efforts, smoke kept emitting from there which poses health hazard to the people.

According to him, the smoke is irritating to the eyes and skin while the odour is usually worst at night.

On his part, Mr. Chukwuma Chukwujekwu whose building is located near the area, said their crops and economic trees were affected by the smoke and disclosed that some environmental experts who came to analyze the burning coal advised them to vacate the areas as it poses great danger to their lives and property.

Contributing, Chief Stephen Okonkwo who stressed that they are in dilemma, lamented that their wives and children have left them, adding that they could ne sleep at night while some of them could not afford to drink a tin milk per day which some health experts recommended.

Meanwhile they disclosed that they have sent letters of appeal to various relevant authorities as regards their situation while some experts have visited the site, but they have not received any response yet, and called on the state government to come to their rescue.
