Enugu Monarch beaten to Death: Governor Ugwuanyi weeps over Igwe Nwatu of Akpugo’s death linked to him


www.odogwublog.com reports that Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu state is unhappy with the people of Ogbozine Akpugo Autonomous Community in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State for killing their traditional ruler allegedly for preventing them from attending a meeting the Governor scheduled.

Ugwuanyi is weeping over the broad day murder as it will not speak well of his state and his high reputation for respects for constituted authority. Our sources said Enugu Government House has not been the same since the information filtered in as Ugwuanyi was unsettled.
The traditional ruler of Ogbozine Akpugo Autonomous Community in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State, Igwe Stephen Nwatu has reportedly been beaten to death by his subjects.

He was beaten and abandoned and that he later died in a hospital in Enugu, the state capital.

Trouble started when the traditional ruler allegedly wanted to prevent them from attending a scheduled meeting with Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on Monday.

The Monarch was alleged to have ordered his driver to overrun his subjects but the driver refused to yield to his orders.

The driver was said to have mistakenly knocked down one elderly man with his car and broke his legs when he attempted to reverse the vehicle.

This irate community members formed a mob numbering about 200 and pounced on the monarch and his driver, giving him the beating of his life.

He was later rushed to Enugu State University Teaching Hospital (ESUTH), where he reportedly died.

The spokesman of Enugu State Police Command, Superintendent Ebere Amaraizu, confirmed the incident.

He said, however, that no arrest has been made in connection to the matter.
