Obi weeps for Benue killing of Priests, worshipers , says PDP Govs doing well, supports the endorsement of Okowa

www.odogwublog.com reports that the former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi has condemned the killing of two Catholic priests and some worshipers in Benue state by suspected herdsmen, saying  that the killings seemed to be getting out of control. 

 

He called on the Government to act quickly and seriously to stop the killings, which he noted would be scary to Forign investors and injurious to Nigerian's economic. 

 

"Besides," Obi said, "It negates the fundamental freedom of worship, association and movement and questions our unity as a country."

Speaking to the media over the weekend at Benin Airport, Obi threw his support to recent endorsement of  Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State by the people of Anioma People, describing  it  as welcome development.

 

Obi said he was particularly happy that the endorsement was on the strength of his performance.

"I am happy about his endorsement which was manifestly on the strength of his performance. I live in Onitsha and visit Delta State regularly. I also interact with so many of our people that live in Delta. Okowa is really a silent performer and conducts himself with dignity befitting his position."

Speaking further, Obi said that not just Okowa, that the PDP governors were doing well.

"Whenever I visit any State, I take time to move around and see what is happening, and most importantly interact with the people.

This year alone, I have been to Rivers where the people are pleased with Wike's outstanding performance which even the blind can see. 

I have been to Akwa Ibom State, Bayelsa State, Ebonyi State,Enugu State, the story and interactions were the same."

Obi said he was in Aba on Saturday and visited one Chinese Company that built Steel rolling mill and were  developing an industrial cluster. On his interactions with the management, Obi said "when I asked the managing director about their relationship with Government of Abia state, he told me that the Governor has visited twice. This shows his commitment to turning around Aba. I moved around Aba and saw evidence of on going construction and commitment.

Commenting on debt situation in the country, Obi said that  PDP states were doing better relative to their revenue.
