www.odogwublog.com reports that pandemonium broke out in Okpuno-Egbu mini market in Umudim-Nnewi, Anambra state when a man stormed the shrine located in the market and attacked the herbalist who allegedly snatched his wife and his three children with a cutlass.

An eyewitness said that the herbalist was in company of some of his colleagues deliberating on certain issues when the aggrieved man popularly called Nwa-Willie entered with cutlass, attacked and inflicted fatal injury on him.

The attack sources said threw the entire market around the shrine into confusion as traders quickly shut their stores as they did not know what the intention of the attacker was and who the next victim would be and as such have to scamper for safety.

A source who will not want his name in print said that Nwa-Willie's wife had earlier abandoned her matrimonial home with her three children and moved in with her new lover, the herbalist who according to him is from the same quarter with her and that the elders in the shrine had on many occasions attempted to mediate over the wife snatching matter without success.

This according to our source was because the woman could not be located as she has allegedly also moved out of the herbalist residence in Uruagu-Nnewi and that all attempt to locate her did not yield any positive dividend.

The aggrieved Nwa-Willie, we learnt was not convinced that his wife was no longer living with the herbalist and then decided to take law into his hand.

The father of three after attacking the herbalist we are told took to his heels and escaped in the confusion that followed his broad day attack on his rival at the shrine.

Our reporter in attempt to get the police angle of the story, visited the Central Police Station (CPS) Nnewi but Divisional Police Officer(DPO) was not on seat but a senior officer who pleaded for anonymity confirmed the incident and said the attacked herbalist is responding to treatment in an undisclosed hospital.
