Bombing of Chief Nwodo's Home Is Another attack on Igbo Nation-PRESS RELEASE OF THE MOVEMENT OF BIAFRANS IN NIGERIA (MOBIN)
The Movement Of Biafrans In Nigeria (MOBIN), the political arm of the Biafran struggle, committed to the mobilization of the people for greater political participation, strongly condemn the unwarranted, unprovoked, and senseless attack on the Ukehe country home of the President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo.
The cowards and shameless enemies of Ndigbo that carried out the dastardly act must be smoked out from their hiding and made to face the full weight of the law.
MOBIN believe that since security agents, especially the police failed to forestall this mindless attack on Nwodo, they have the ample opportunity to redeem their image and win back the confidence of Ndigbo by ensuring that those behind this undeserved aggression are severely punished to deter future occurrence.
An attack on Chief Nwodo is certainly an attack on the Igbo Nation, and should therefore, not be trivialized.
MOBIN wonders why a man, who has tried to contribute his modest quota in resolving the quagmire facing Ndigbo should be singled out for attack, when those who have raped our women and ravaged our farmlands walk away triumphantly.
We call on all well-meaning Nigerians to rise up in total condemnation of this act.
MOBIN equally appeal to Chief Nwodo not to be distracted or discouraged by the incident but to continue in his fight for the overall good of Ndi Igbo.
Ohaneze Ndigbo is the institution created for the development and progress of Ndigbo and thus, the personality of those holding its offices as well the institution itself must not be subjected to mockery, contempt or violent attacks such as the one of Sunday 29th April.
Igboland is a peaceful clime that loathes bloodletting. Those behind this act cannot escape God, even if they escape man. This act of violence must never repeat itself in Biafraland.
Signed,
Ezenwanyi Eberechukwu Anigbogu,
Director General.
