NOA – RAISES ALARM ON INSECURITY, ANTI-KIDNAPPING AND DRUG ABUSE AT OGENE FM

www.odogwublog.com reports that the State Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA), Awka, Barrister Charles Nwoji, has underscored the importance of media in community and national development as well as dissemination of government development programmes, policies and activities.

The Director, who was speaking when he led some members of management of the Agency on an advocacy visit to the General Manager of a Private Radio Station in Awka, Ogene FM maintained that the aim of the visit was to establish a robust synergy with the management of the Radio station on Voter Education and the Continuous Voters Registration Programme, now the scheduled 2019 General Elections are fast approaching.

He briefed the Management staff of the Radio organization on the proposed sensitization programmes of the Agency on Security, Anti-kidnapping and Drug Abuse, adding that NOA is mobilizing the people to key into building a credible government in the country.

Barrister Nwoji, who commended the quality information and programmes of the station, re-affirmed that the vital roles the media play in character molding cannot be over emphasized.

Receiving the NOA Director and his team in her office, the General Manager, of Ogene FM Radio Station, Mrs. Chinwe Ononye, said that the station was established to serve the society’s needs, pointing out that one of the major responsibilities of the organization was to disseminate quality information, education and also entertain the populace.

She charged the leadership of NOA to intensify efforts in value-orientation and identified the issues of the herdsmen/farmers clashes and other security problems in the country as sources of worry to every right thinking Nigerian.

The renowned media practitioner, who described Radio as one of the major means of sensitization in a society like Nigeria, stressed that it was wonderful to have a collaboration with NOA for the good of Nigerians.

From him, the NOA Deputy Director Programme, Sir. Joseph Uchendu, added that there is need for the two sister agencies to collaborate in championing the cause of building a virile society and thanked the leadership of the Radio House for the warm reception accorded to them.
