Catholic Priest Attansi Expresses Worry Over Poor Participation Of Southeast In CVR

www.odogwublog.com reports that the Episcopal Vicar Awka region, Awka Catholic Diocese, Reverend Father Mathew Attansi has frowned at the lackadaisical attitude of some people in the South East geopolitical zone over the ongoing voter registration exercise.

Father Attansi who spoke to the press in Awka while reacting to a social media analysis of registered voters in Nigeria, lamented that the South East geo political zone is the least on the table.

According to Father Attansi who is the Cathedral Administrator of Saint Patrick’s Cathedral Awka, the electorate who are yet to register, should take advantage of the ongoing exercise to register ahead of the 2019 general elections.

Father Attansi said he is committed towards ensuring that the people at the grass-root especially Awka North Local Government Area, where he hails from, took active participation in the exercise stressing the need for people to spread the information so that response to the exercise would be commendable.

On his part, the traditional ruler of Umueje, Igwe Elias Nneli, expressed worry that at his last inspection visit to Anaku the Ayamelum Local Government Area headquarters, was met with low turnout of people saying it is not in the best interest of the zone.

Igwe Nneli urged unregistered eligible voters to troop out to register, warning that without their Voter Cards, the zone will be left out.
