Nassarawa state police command has arrested a superintendent and four other police officers for allegedly vandalizing of power installation.The incident which took place in a transformer located  at Obi junction in Obi local Government Area of the state was disclosed by the command public relation officer, Kennedy Idirisu.
The suspects on November 17 were arrested by the operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad acting on special information who swung into action immediately the report was filled and recovered four rolls of cable and tools used in vandalizing the transformer. He said. The spokesperson revealed  that the state Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department had started  investigation into the matter, while disciplinary procedures against the officers are underway.
According to him, the command was determined to purge the force of ‘bad eggs’ in line with the Inspector-General’s Policy of zero tolerance for corruption and unprofessional conduct.
“In view of this, the case will be diligently investigated and all persons found culpable will be prosecuted,” Mr. Idirisu said.
