Tension as fire Razes 8 vehicles worth N850m in workshop in Anambra

www.odogwublog.com reports that over N850  Million were lost yesterday when fire razed 7 trucks and one car in a Mechanic workshop at Ogidi, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Although no life was lost at the inferno but it injured an electrician where the fire started as well as razed 3 tankers, 4 flat lorries and one car parked at the workshop.
An eyewitness told our Correspondent that the fire was caused by an explosion at electrician workshop close to the scene, saying that a spark from the electricity caused the explosion due to open fuel on a bucket kept close to the workshop.
He said that despite distress calls to fire service offices at Ogidi market, main market Onitsta and Awka, none of them arrived at the scene until the fire razed the vehicles.
The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Nkeiruka Nwode an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) who confirmed the incident said that the owner of the workshop has been arrested and interrogated, saying that the cause of the fire has not been ascertained.
Nwode said that investigation was still on to ascertain the cause of the fire that razed many vehicles and injured one person.
