                           The Rush To Visit Buhari In London

London is the only place where anyone can see Buhari, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The location in London is Aso Rock, the official residence of the president in Abuja, Nigeria. The place happens to be a hospital. People now (mostly government officials and members of his party) flies to London to confer with Buhari, but not on the sate of Nigeria affairs.  

Initial government officials said he was traveling abroad to have rest and routine medical checkup, now what was supposed to be for a few days, at most weeks has turn into months and still counting. Let me state something here; the human body is not a computer, even computer deserves maintenance, so like every human being, health issues should  be taken into utmost consideration, and for the fact that he is the president of Nigeria, the interest is high.

  

I’m not happy that our president is battling health challenge, at the same time, I’m sad that overzealous government officials, who think they are more patriotic than I am, lied to  Nigerians that there was nothing to worry about his health. Now I’m beginning to be worried. All those that have visited Buhari have only being singing one song, “his health is improving,” I pray so, yet they have not shown video to support than to show still picture.

Yesterday, presidential spokesperson, Femi Adesina, shared a picture on a Facebook post of President Muhammadu Buhari meeting with the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara. What was the outcome? 

Mr. Dogara said Buhari’s health has improved tremendously. He said he was glad seeing that the president is doing well and urged Nigerians to continue to pray for the president.

“Today we visited His Excellency, President Buhari. I am glad that he is doing well his health has improved tremendously. I urge all Nigerians to continue to pray and offer thanks to God for answered prayers and for the safe return of Mr. President.”  None has visited Buhari without telling Nigerians that he is getting better and would return soon.

I have question, what is the nature of Buhari ailment. Buhari has been in London for over 100 days receiving medical treatment for a yet to be disclosed ailment. If the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was still opposition we know the propaganda that would have emanated from this. Buhari is the president of Nigeria, not APC, government neither official nor political appointees. The President been treated by taxpayers money, the spent money by those flying to London is from our nationary treasury and not from their pockets.  

They should tell Nigerians the nature of his ailment and the hospital is in London that is it is obtained in civilized climes.
