www.odogwublog.com reports that against the assurances from Anambra state government led by Governor Willie Obiano that the state government would offset the bills of the treatment of the victims of the St Philip’s Catholic Church , Ozubulu gun men attack , the Catholic Diocese of Nnewi has opened an account soliciting for funds to assist the victims and their families.
Governor Obiano was emphatic when he said the government would offset the bills and other sundry expenses following the outcome of the massacre.
The Catholic Church said it has decided to do all it can to help the victims of the gunmen attack in St. Philip’s Catholic Church, Ozubulu. To do that, the Diocese has opened a bank account to which all funds for the care of the victims will be deposited for proper accountability. The account is:

The statement by the Bishop, Most Rev. Hilary Paul Odili Okeke stated further: ‘’Anybody, parish, institution, company, society, association or group that would like to join the diocese in providing assistance to the victims and their families can send their contributions to that account.  We shall keep accurate records of contribution and distribution of the funds’’.

This is coming as the Ozubulu community under the auspices of Ozubulu Development Union has released a comprehensive report on the last Sunday attack on innocent worshippers in the town.
 In a statement signed by Deacon Iykebest Malizu for ODU condemned the gruesome murder of men, women and children who had gone to worship their maker early in the morning.
ODU said that there was no communal attack as peddled in some quarters, even as it challenged the federal security agencies to fish out the perpetrators of the dastardly act.
Ozubulu community also appreciated the Anambra state governor, Chief Willie Obiano for his prompt visit to the town and NAUTH Nnewi where the injured are recuperating.
The community said twenty six victims are in various hospitals, twelve dead and one person missing.
The community called for prayers from all lovers of good for the sleepy town of Ozubulu at her trying moment occasioned by gruesome murder of innocent worshipers.

The Odogwu Media crew recalls that on Sunday, 6th August 2017, during the celebration of the Holy Mass in St. Philip’s Catholic Church, Ozubulu, gunmen attacked the people in the church, killing some and wounding some.
