ARRESTS FIVE OVER ABDUCTION OF FORMER LABOUR MINISTER, AKWANGA…
Christian Rowland reporting for Odogwu media from Rivers state.. The Nasarawa State Police Command
has announced the arrest of five suspects in connection with the kidnapping of
former Minister of Labour and Productivity, Hussaini Zanwa Akwanga.
The suspects were nabbed after an
intensive search and combing operation in one of the forests in Akwanga Local
Government Area of the state.
Akwanga was kidnapped by gunmen at
his farm on Wamba Road in Akwanga on Tuesday.
Confirming the development to
newsmen on Thursday, Police Commissioner Abubakar Sadeeq Bello, said that the
arrested suspects are currently being interrogated.
Meanwhile, family sources have
claimed that the kidnappers were insisting on eight million Naira ransom.
