Why I said Obiano has failed us- Senator Uba

www.odogwublog.com reports that a frontline gubernatorial aspirant of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Anambra State, Senator Andy Uba insists he is coming out to contest the coveted position of number one citizen of the state because according to him, Governor Obiano has failed the state.

The APC gubernatorial aspirant berated the Chief Willie Obiano -led administration in Anambra State for lacking in vision and creativity.

He said despite the huge deposit of human and material resources in the state, the All Progressives Grand Alliance-led government continues to impoverish the people.

Una’s words: “When I say Obiano has failed, let him point out any major thing he has done to create jobs for our people. We are talking of creating jobs for hundreds of thousands of people, not just signing MOU’s.

Obiano claims that he is doing something massive in agriculture; we are yet to see the products or the value chain that should accompany such claims.

He claimed that we are exporting vegetables and yams but till date we are yet to see a similar value chain accompanying such.

“Yes, agriculture is key to providing jobs, since it can employ hundreds of thousands and youths, but you can’t get it right without putting in the right measures.  This is what has been lacking. That is why I said he has not been effective.” he added.

Uba said there cannot be adequate security in Anambra until jobs are created and made available to the teeming unemployed youths.

Uba, spoke at recently Umunachi, Dunukofia LGA, during a brief interaction with stakeholders, observed that the major goal of every government is to provide security, but noted that job creation is key to security provision.

He described unemployment as one of Nigeria’s major problem. “There is no way, I tell you no way, we will continue like this; without creating jobs for our people and you think there will be security.

The moment when people, young people can’t get jobs and the population continues to churn out graduates, these people will  look to other means to provide an income and feed themselves and family, of which they may resort to committing crimes” he said.
