Quit notice: Anglican Diocese of Awka offers to admit Anglican clergies from North

www.odogwublog.com reports that the Anglican Diocese of Awka has assured to be its brother’s keeper should any form of eventuality happens based on the quit notice recently issued to South Easterners by some groups of Northern youths and elders.
Awka Anglican diocese therefore assured it will accommodate all Igbo clerics of Anglican faithful based in the Northern part of the country following the quit notice
According to the Diocesan Bishop, His Lordship Rt. Rev. Dr. Alexander Ibezim, his diocese was ever ready to welcome and admit them into the vineyard to help in spreading the gospel to the hinterland because they cannot afford to lose any soul to blood thirsting religious and regional bigots.

Ibezim stated this at St. Lawrence Parish Mbakwu, Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State, while admitting confirmation on 95 candidates as well as admitting 161 men and women into Men Guilds (Fathers Fellowship) and Women Guilds (Mothers Fellowship) of Mbaukwu Archdeaconry (Anglican Communion).

Mbaukwu Archdeaconry comprises all the Anglican churches in Mbaukwu, Isiagu and Umuawulu communities.

He also appealed to Igbos living in the North especially those in the crisis prone states like Maiduguri, Borno, Kano and Sokoto to hearken to the vacate order and kindly return home to develop their land rather to allow their bloods to be spilled as it had been in the past.

The cleric, while harping on the needs for love and righteousness, advised the newly inducted men and women never to use church activities and prayers to shield away from their various responsibilities.

“You must not shy away from your responsibilities as mothers and fathers while engaging on church activities and prayers. God will not accept those who use prayers to dodge their duties. Do not overlook or consider any job as less important because it could be what God destined for you to prosper. There is no way God will allow you to go hungry if you are hardworking and industrious.

“The fathers should also not allow their jobs and other engagements to deter them from their functions as men of the house and husbands because it could be counterproductive. Also, you must not be find wanting in activities that will bring development of your church, diocese and society. As head of the family, if you think your wife is cheating on you in buying family chores, join her to market to find out what things cost. You will be surprised to discover that what used to cost N1, 000 in the past has risen to N10, 000,” he added.

The Archdeaconry used the service to inaugurate some steering committees to oversee its formal celebrations.
