SEOF: FOUNDATION COMMISSIONS 5 HOUSES BUILT BY MRS OKOROCHA FOR WIDOWS

The wife of the Governor of Imo State, Dr Mrs Nneoma Rochas Okorocha has commissioned and handed over five modern furnished two- bedroom Bungalows she built for the Sir Emeka Offor Foundation (SEOF) Widows co-operative societies at Oraifite, Ekwusigo Local Government Area, Anambra State.
The handover of the five residential buildings to five indigent widows was done recently during the 10th year anniversary of the SEOF Widow’s multipurpose co-operative societies limited.
The five fortunate recipients include: Mr Augustina Oba a native of Ezumeri village, Oraifite; Mr Theresa Iwuchukwu a native of Isingwu village Oraifite who currently lived in a lock-up shop; Mrs Chinenye Onyekwum a native of Ibolo Oraifite who formally lived under a shanty covered with tarpaulin; Mrs Christiana Chukwugelo a widow from Nkalafia Oraifite whose only son is blind and helpless and Mrs Nonye Igbokwe from Awor village, Oraifite all in Ekwusigo L.G.A, Anambra State.
    In his address the coordinator of SEOF, Sir Tony Obi said that Her Excellency Dr Mrs Nkechi Rochas Okorocha made the pronouncement to build and furnish five two bedroom bungalows for five indigent windows in her speech on the 24th of December 2016 during the SEOF empowerment programme for widows at Oraifite, adding that the promise has become a reality.
“I am highly elated to welcome you all to another occasion in the life of our foundation –SEOF. We are celebrating an amiable relationship attracted by our founder Chief Sir Emeka Offor and His wife Barr. Mrs. Adaora Offor barley six months ago when Her Excellency, Mrs Nneoma R Okorocha was an august visitor to the SEOF widows cooperative solemn Assembly. She was touched by the plight of the widows and sent a verification team from her pet project “Women of Divine Destiny Initiative (WODDI)whose offshoot; “ She needs A Roof Project “(SNARP) came, built and furnished with a state of the art facilities five residential buildings. Her Excellency have extended her philanthropic activities to Anambra State and this is worthy of emulation, “ Obi eulogized.
While commissioning one of the widows new residential buildings in Ezumeri village, one of the guests of honor and philanthropist ,Chief Sir Sunday Igboanuzue, Chairman OCI international ltd, said he was elated to commission one of the houses, saying that he was happy Mrs Okorocha extended her magnanimity to his town Oraifite
“This is worthy of emulation today I see someone doing what I relish in doing, putting a roof over the head of the less privileged. This is beyond politics it is service to humanity. God will continue to bless SEOF, WODDI, SNARP, and her Excellency Dr Mrs Okorocha for coming all the way from Imo State to remember my people here in Anambra State”, said Igboanuzue.
The chairman of the occasion, Prof Joe Ahaneku, Vice chancellor, Nnamdi Azikiwe University advised other philanthropist whom God has blessed to remember the disadvantage in our society.
The Wife of the Host, Barr Mrs Adaora Offor said that all glory should be given to God for such an opportunity to give saying that she and her husband Sir Emeka Offor have like minds when it comes to giving, even across religious, ethnic and national backgrounds.
In her vote of thanks Mrs Augustine Oba said that if someone told her she would ever sleep on a foam with her eye closed during rainy season she would not believe it.
Mrs Oba said “ I have suffered in life, I didn’t know my parents, later on I married and very soon I become a widow with children. I don’t have Engineer and doctors as children. I and my children are outcasts but today Nneoma Okorocha have remembered me. I pray God will bless you and I pray for others in my shoe to laugh as I am laughing now someday”            
Highlight of the occasion was cultural dance by widow cooperatives, handing over of the building amid cheers and tears of joy.
