Obiano’s flyovers are deathtraps- ex-Anambra SSG, Obaze

www.odogwublog.com reports that a former Secretary to the Anambra State Government, Mr. Oseloka Obaze, on Wednesday described the three flyovers constructed on the Awka/Enugu expressway by the Anambra state government as deathtraps.

He said the Federal Government did not give approval for the construction of the bridges.
Obaze spoke at a lecture he delivered at the Correspondents’ Chapel Forum of the Nigeria Union of journalists, Anambra Council ,entitled, “Conflict between politics and governance, bane of economic and social development: A case study of Nigeria”.

Obaze, who is a governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples' Democratic Party in the November 18 poll, said the flyovers were time bombs waiting to explode.
 He said “the bridges were conceptualized by a former governor of the state, Chief Peter Obi, but during one of the state executive council meetings we condemned the idea because of the cost implication and it was dropped.

"What the present administration had done on the construction of the flyovers was not a reflection of the concept by Chief Peter Obi’s government.”
 “But the Obiano government decided to embark on it. Have you not passed through the Nkpor flyover? Does it have barricades? Why did Obiano put barricades to the three bridges in question? You guess is as good as mine".
