Igwe Chijioke Nwankwo , others demand implementation of Joint LG Allocation for Traditional Rulers

www.odogwublog.com reports that dissatisfied with the non implementation of the Joint Local Government
Allocation for traditional rulers in Anambra state, traditional rulers
from Anambra Central senatorial zone, have urged the state
Government to consider the high expenditure they make on daily basis
as custodians and leaders in their various domains and implement it.

Speaking on behalf of the monarchs, the traditional ruler of Nawfia,
Njikoka Local Government Area, Igwe Chijioke Nwankwo said, " it was in
2007, during the regime of Jim Nwobodo, the then Governor of Anambra
state that the Joint Local  Government Allocation for Traditional
rulers law was passed as a law but has not been implemented since then
till now"

"No government has implemented it since then to enable us get five
per  cent of the allocation as stipulated by the law establishing it.

igwes spend a lot so the implementation will help us a lot, we have
five  per cent of the allocation"

They  appealed to Governor Willie Obiano to conduct election in the
council to have elected executives as caretakers are not legal.

On insurgency, armed robbery and  thuggery ravaging some South East
zone and others they attributed it to unemlpoyment and negligence to
cultural values.

The monarchs commended the governor for fighting crime in the state
adding that people now sleep with their two eyes closed.

According to them he  spread political appointments to benefit all
council areas.
