MASSOB to South-East Governors on Kanu's release: Go beyond political rhetoric

www.odogwublog.com reports that the  Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has saluted  the courage of South East Governors on their pledge to intervene on the detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and other pro-Biafra agitators languishing in different Nigeria prisons.                  

But MASSOB challenged the governors to go beyond political rhetorics and match their words with action.

MASSOB Leader, Comrade Uchenna Madu, in a press statement, commended the governors for coming out boldly to defend the cause of Ndigbo and Biafran activists despite their political leanings.

According to MASSOB, the decision of the governors though belated, to stand with the people is an indication that the struggles for Biafra restoration is about coming to a glorious end.

The statement read in part: " MASSOB as a leading pro Biafra group and a factor in Igbo land expresses a little gladness that Igbo Governors have risen  from their slumbering attitude towards issues concerning the interest and survival of our people.

" But the governors must march their words, assurances and decisions with actions. Ndigbo are tired of vain promises and assurances which ultimately bring vain and meaningless glories."

The statement noted that  "Kanu, three other IPOB members  at Kuje prison and 21  MASSOB members at Onitsha / Awka prisons are being held because of Biafra and freedom of our people.

" They are not criminals but freedom fighters who are loved by the people of Biafra. Igbo political leaders mostly the governors should know that if Nnamdi Kanu is the son or younger brother of Ike Ekweremadu or Nnia Nwodo, he will not spend a month in detention."       

MASSOB accused the Igbo political elite of cowardice wondering why they find it hard to raise their voice when issues affecting Ndigbo come up.

" Majority of Igbo National Assembly members are political cowards and bootlickers. We advice the Igbo governors to distinguish themselves from the lukewarmness   of some National Assembly Members.

"MASSOB and other pro Biafra groups represent the genuine interest of the Ndigbo which can never be denied.

"If Yoruba leaders can eloquently support and collaborate with Odua Peoples Congress (OPC), Hausa Fulani (Arewa) leaders openly romances with Islamic fundamentals including Book Haram Terrorist and   Armed Fulani Herdsmen for the goodness of their region and people, why are Igbo leaders afraid to support or collaborate with Biafra agitating groups for the betterment of Igbo land and her people ?        

MASSOB expressed the confidence that Kanu's next court appearance would have a favourable outcome.     

"With Igbo governors stand, MASSOB is optimistic with an expectation that the next Court appearance of Nnamdi Kanu and others shall bring a positive outcome that will erupt a jubilation in Igbo land", the statement said.
