IPOB: Kanu's parents HRM Eze Israel Kanu , and wife Ugoeze Sally Kanu reject stringent bail conditions, weep for son

www.odogwublog.com reports that the parents of the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, have cried foul over the stringent bail conditions for his release and called on the court to review the ruling and free their son unconditionally.

This is as there was eruption of joy and wide celebration Kanu's community as soon as the news about his release filtered in.

Some folks gathered around his family house jubilating and  chanting pro- Biafra songs  in celebration of Kanu's release.

His father HRM Eze Israel Kanu, flanked by his wife Ugoeze Sally Kanu, during a press briefing today at their Isiama Afaraukwu Ibeku Umuahia country home shortly after Kanu was granted bail in Abuja called for the unconditional release of their son.

The octogenarian who however, said he was over-joyed over the news of his son's release insisted that the bail conditions should not be made impossible.

The monarch said it sounds illogical for a court in Nigeria to expect a Jewish leader in far away Israel to stand as surety for one standing trial in Nigeria.

His words: " Why ask him to produce a Jewish leader as surety? Why demand a Senator or Igbo leader who will deposit N100 million? Is N100 million N100.

" Could it be that they are looking for an opportunity to keep him in detention? It is up to the world to look at the bail conditions and see if they are justifiable".

The royal father said Ndigbo should unite and take up the challenge as a people , arguing that the attack is not against Kanu alone but the entire Igbo race.

He also called for the unconditional release of other IPOB members standing trial along with Kanu.

Nnamdi's father said he had always had the faith that his son would one day be released, and thanked God that such a day had come despite the antics of the enemies.

He hailed Gov. Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State, and former Aviation Minister, Femi Kani Kayode for solidarity to his son but noted that the absence of prominent Igbo leaders at the court premises was not an indication that they are not supporting the Biafra cause.

Adding his voice, the IPOB leader's mother, Ugoeze who said she had been having sleepless nights while his son was in detention thanked God for answering her prayers.

She also thanked all those who stood behind the Biafra cause and prayed for the son's release, urging them to keep faith in the new republic.

Asked if she would advise the son to discontinue with the Biafran project, Kanu's mother thundered, " no retreat no surrender, Biafra is a divine project".

Kanu's mother said the arrest of her son popularized Biafra agitation , and vowed to keep supporting the movement  " because my son is fighting for his right".

Meanwhile, a rights activist and social crusader, Comrade Paul Njoku, has called for the immediate review of Kanu's bail conditions saying " they are superfluous and a miscarriage of justice".

He argued that IPOB is not an illegal organization, and wondered why such stringent bail conditions should be attached to Kanu's release.

Njoku hailed Gov.  Fayose , and  Fayose for solidarising with Kanu at the court yesterday , and berated Igbo leaders for failing to identify with their son.
