Amazing Grace Foundation empowers aged, less privileged in Obeledu

www.odogwublog.com reports that over 250 persons in Obeledu in Anaocha Council Area Anambra State including the Aged and the less privileged were empowered by the Amazing Grace Foundation.
Among items distributed to the beneficiaries were Wheel chairs, textile materials, food items, mosquito nets, toiletries, cash among others.
The Amazing Grace Foundation which has branches all over the country, caters for the elderly, widows and victims of family violence with a Law Firm that takes up Probo no, cases of all manner of abuse of the rights of the elderly.
Presenting the items, the Founder of the Foundation and immediate past Chairperson of the Nigeria Census Tribunal, Dr Ifeyinwa Obegolu said the exercise is a ministry from God that started when she was young through which she aims to create awareness on the plights of the elderly and provide succour to them with a view to getting the society to cater for them.
Dr Obegolu who described the aged as special products of God's grace, reminded them that having reached the age of 70, God has given them the opportunity to make their way right with him by shunning evil and assuming the status of beacons of truth so that they can inherit the kingdom of heaven.
She appealed to government at all levels to create welfare schemes for the elderly to ensure that their old age is spent in happiness.
Also speaking, the State President, National Council of Women Societies, Mrs Oby Obodozie  said by the gesture, the benefactor is exemplifying true Christian virtues and putting smiles on the faces of the people and urged the people irrespective of their status to cultivate the habit of showing love to one another.
One of the aged persons who got a wheelchair, Mrs Priscilla Okoye-Ukpo from Umuaneke village, Obeledu whose joys knew no bounds, thanked Dr Obegolu for her benevolence and prayed God to reward her immensely.
The elderly persons and their caregivers were during the ministration which also featured a holy mass, taken through series of talks on women health and morality by the Assistant Director in charge of Social Justice Unit of the National Orientation Agency, Lady Ifeoma Chijioke.
