50 escapes death as heavy down pour uproots 30 electric poles in Ndikelionwu

www.odogwublog.com reports that no fewer than Fifty (50) persons were feared dead when heavy down pour uprooted over 30 electricity poles at Umuochu village  Ndikelionwu Orumba north LGA  at the site of ongoing electrification project.
The project was initiated by the Anambra State government, and was started by the former Governor of the state, Mr Peter Obi in 2014 before Obiano’s government continued.
This project was awarded to one Nnamdi Okonkwo at the estimated cost of thirty million naira #30,000,000  through the ministry of public utility  .
Major Humphrey Oti rtd, who is from the village told www.odogwublog.com that the contractor abandoned the project since 2015,and it took intervention of himself and Hon Romanus Obi, member representing Orumba in the state  Assembly to drag the contractor back to the site.
The contractor was about to energize the Project before the incident happened and now about 30 poles with wire were on ground and all the poles broken.
 Oti said that all his effort to make sure his village get electricity for the first time like other villages in Ndike is completely dashed out because he is currently confused and don't know were to start again, although  he  was thankful to God  that no life was lost  ,but people around the area sustained  minor injuries, and were allegedly responding to medical treatment .
When contacted, the contractor,  Nnamdi Okonkwo said that major Oti informed him about the incident and he is totally confused of what to do next because he has wasted  a lot money on the project. Okonkwo said he will visit the site and cost the damages and inform the state government.

Well done on the information, and as a feed back to this project at present the state government have not done anything as these poles are still damaged and nothing done yet by his excellency, he needs to visit the place and see for himself as there's no road or electricity in the area and the citizens are suffering.
