Onowu Igbonine (the Igbo Regent) is dead, as Ojukwu’s widow mourns him

www.odogwublog.com reports that Chief Michael Ozuah Okoye, Onowu Igbonine (the Igbo Regent), is dead.
This is copming as Her Excellency, Chief Mrs Bianca Ojukwu, the widow of the late Biafra War-Lord and Ezeigbo Gburugburu, late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, has described the demise Chief Michael Ozuah Okoye, Onowu Igbonine (the Igbo Regent) as a terrifying news to her and the entire Ojukwu’s family who took Chief Okoye as their father after the demise of Dim Chukwumeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.

    Late Michael Ozuah Okoye, Onowu Igbonine, was the former Council Chairman of the old Anambra Local Government Area. He was the Chairman/CEO of Igwbuike Motors Nig. Ltd. He is a custodian of Igbo culture and tradition.

    Bianca Ojukwu said news of the demise of the Igbo Regent broke, said, “It is really sad for me and my family that our dad, Chief Ozuah Okoye, the Igbo Regent, is dead.  It is hard for me to believe this.

Daddy Ozuah Okoye took over as my father and husband after the death of Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu. He has been my confidant and counselor.

    “Though we cannot question God’s decision to take him at this point in time; but I think the Igbo nation needs him at this point in our history. The Igbo people, those at home and in Diaspora will miss him.

    “Ozuah Okoye is an ally of the Ezeigbo Gburugburu. They got the chieftaincy title of Ezeigbo and Onowu Igbo same day at Nri Kingdom in the 1980s. They did everything together, especially things that concerns the welfare of the Igbo nation and her people”.

    She urged Ndigbo both at home and those in Diaspora to pray for the peaceful repose of the late Igbo Reagent; even as she also called on the government of Anambra State and the entire South East Governors Forum to erect a monument to immortalize the deceased.
