Madonna University Anambra Graduate, Kelechi Ibezunma gunned down in Imo

www.odogwublog.com reports a 2016 graduate of Madonna University Okija in Anambra State, Kelechi Ibezunma has been gunned down in Owerri by suspected cultists over a phone on Sunday night.
The Physiology Graduate was in Owerri, the Imo State capital to visit a yet to be identified friend who is a student at the Imo State university, Owerri.
Odogwublog.com gathered that suspected cultists believed to be undergraduates of the University had invaded some hostels around the back gate area with guns and robbed the students of their phones, laptops and other electronic devices.
However on their way out, the gunmen accosted Ibezunma, who had gone to a nearby shop to buy bread and milk for dinner at about 8:52pm.
The gunmen demanded Ibezunma's phone which he allegedly refused, an action that angered them. In response, they shot him, collected his phone and fled.
The incident occurred between Steve Jane Hostel and Obama hostel, at Aladimma Street, popularly known as IMSU back gate.
It was learnt that students had rushed him to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Owerri, where he died after the doctors on duty allegedly refused to attend to him for yet to be identified reasons.
President of Obama hostel, Paul Onwuzuruike, during a telephone interview said they discovered the slain graduate's identity through an identity card found on him.

Onwuzuruike said that none of the students in the hostel knew the fresh graduate or where he hailed from, but have reported the incident to the Orji Police Station.
Spokesperson for the police in the state, Andrew Enwerem, said he was yet to be briefed on the incident.
The spate of killings around the Imo State University environs has in recent times been increasing.
