Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company (IVM) Nnewi, Anambra state trains another 200 ex-militants

www.odogwublog.com reports that two hundred ex-militants today resumed at Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company (IVM) Nnewi, Anambra state for a nine months technical training on automobile.

Prince Jacob Momoh, a training partner in the Office of Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta(OSAPND) said the training is a collaboration between the federal government and Innoson Group to empower ex-militants with technical education.

He noted that the purpose of the training is to make the Niger Delta youths useful and employable and in the process avail them the opportunity to contribute their quota to nation building.

Prince Momoh noted that the trainees have demonstrated their passion to learn and improve their lot through the program.

The Head, Vocational Training in the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta, Faith Omofuma urged the trainees to take their nine months training serious as everything needed for successful training has been provided.

She noted that the training was not just put together for the trainees to learn but to change their mindset about their environment and Nigeria in particular even as she said the trainees would be giving employment after their training.

Omofuma revealed that IVM and Bayelsa state government have perfected plans to set up a plant in the Niger Delta so as to better empower the youths of the area. She called on other states in Niger Delta to also key into the program.

The Chairman, CEO of IVM, Chief Innocent Chukwuma while welcoming the guests and the trainees to Nnewi reassured the trainees of his commitment to not only train them on automobile but to teach them how to be rich and useful to the society.

Chief Chukwuma said that the training opportunity is his own way of giving back to the society.
