Fidelity, Skye, Zenith and Diamond banks shut as Air force, Police exchange gun fire in Owerri

www.odogwublog.com reports that while the city of Owerri was waiting to see the corpse of dreaded kidnap kingpin, Henry Chibueze popularly called Vampire,  Douglas road, the commercial nerve center boiled as policemen attached to a first bank branch on the street clashed with an Airforce officer, sending fears that there was a robbery attack.

The fracas ensued following refusal of a Policeman who refused the Air force officer entry because he had firearm.
It was gathered that the Air force officer who was in military camouflage, resisted the police officer immediately which resulted into a fight.
During the fight, the Police officer allegedly shot the military officer, an action that angered the Air force officer colleagues.
A source said soon Air force officers gathered and stormed the bank premises which led to a free for all fight and shooting between the police officers and the Air force personnel.
The shooting caused fear into residents and people on the road as other banks, fidelity, Skye, Zenith and Diamond banks immediately shut down over fears of armed robbers.
It took the combined efforts of senior police officers and military police officers to calm the situation, as the shot Airforce officer was rushed to the hospital, where he is currently recuperating.
The affected First bank branch was immediately shut down while as armed police men condoned off the area. 
When contacted for confirmation, the state Commissioner of Police, Taiwo Lakanu, said he was yet to be briefed, saying he was busy with the programs about the killing of the most wanted kidnap kingpin, Henry Chibueze, popularly known as Vampire.
