Dr Chris Nwabueze Ngige fires Governors on federal roads in their states, says ‘’stop waiting for FG’’

www.odogwublog.com reports that former Governor of  Anambra State and Minister for Labour and Productivity, Senator Chris Nwabueze Ngige, has come again with his bombshell to Governors of the 36 states of the federation, charging them to fix federal roads traversing their states instead of waiting for  federal intervention which could be long in coming.

Ngige who gave the charge in Umuahia , Abia State argued that it makes no sense for the governors to keep complaining about the deplorable condition of federal roads in their state when they could help in rehabilitating them at least for the sake of their people who are the major users of such roads.

He boasted that while he was governor, he rebuilt most of the dilapidated federal roads in Anambra state while his successor in office was later reimbursed by the federal government.

" I re-built three quarter of all federal  roads in Anambra and later went for refund, but Peter Obi ( his successor)  collected the refund of N12 billion".

Ngige also challenged state governments to consciously invest in agriculture as a quick way to revamp their economies and be less dependent on allocations from the federal government.

" We want to make states sufficient to stop coming to Abuja monthly with a cup like babies coming to beg with a plate of rice", he added.

He commended Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu who he said had procured 2 million palm seedlings for distribution to the people with a proposal for additional 7 million later in the year.

Ngige also enjoined the people of South East to stop castigating but support President Muhammadu Buhari who he claimed has been showing some favour to the zone.

" They said Buhari hates us but he has been giving us things silently".

On the way out of the current economic recession  Ngige advised Nigerians to cut down on their spendings until the economy improves.

" Things are not good for us in Nigeria today. Oil plummeted from $100  to $35 per barrel, and a volume of 2.2 million to 1.1 million barrels per day.

" So, if you are using half a tin of milk before, use one quarter now. We are all struggling to come out of recession."
