Obiano flags off 5 projects in Onitsha Military Cantonment, pledges continuous support for Nigerian Army

Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra has pledged continuous working relationship and support for the Nigerian Army to sustain the security of lives and property in the state.
The governor gave the assurance on Friday while inaugurating five projects at the Onitsha Military Cantonment, Onitsha.
Obiano, who said he had no regrets been a friend of the Nigerian Army before being a governor, said the Nigerian Army had helped to wipe out crime and criminality in the state.
He assured that the welfare of men and officers of the Nigerian army serving in the state will remain paramount to his administration.
The projects inaugurated by the governor include a reconstructed military cantonment guard room, palm garden, lawn tennis, arms store and a morgue.
Earlier, the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 82 Division Enugu, Maj.-Gen. Adamu Abubakar, described the projects as “dividends of democracy”.
He commended Obiano for the support, saying that the road network in the Onitsha cantonment was one of the best in the country.
Also speaking, the Commander 302 Artillery Regiment, Onitsha, Col. Issah Abdulahi, said the projects will impact on the lives of officers and men as well as areas affecting administration and environment.
“This will ensure that officers and men are in the right state of mind to perform their duties of securing the state and the country,” Abdulahi said.
Odogwublog.com reports that the projects were executed by Abdulahi and Lt. Col. Abubakar Saleh, Commanding Officer, 14 Field Engineer Regiment, Onitsha.
