www.odogwublog.com reports that jubilation erupted in
Owerre Imo state today when the Customary Government of Indigenous People of
Biafra (IPOB) secured what could be called round one victory from Federal High
Court sitting in Owerre.
At the resumed court
hearing today at Federal High Court ,Owerri, in the legal battle between the
Indigenous People of Biafra led by Prof Francis Dike(SAN) and the Federal
Republic of Nigeria, the presiding Judge- Hon Justice Alagoa ruled that the
Federal High Court ,Owerri has jurisdiction to hear the historical suit on Biafra
quest for self determination.
The objection raised
by the FGN legal team was duly dismissed by the Federal High Court Judge.
This is a cheering
news for all Biafrans across the globe. Hearing on the substantive suit will
continue on 16th March,2017.
