Another Tanker Fire Averted In Anambra

www.odogwublog.com reports that two weeks after a fuel tanker wrecked havoc in Onitsha, another tanker fire disaster was averted at Nnanedum Oil and Gas Nibo, Awka-South Local government area.
The officer in charge of fire prevention, sensitization and training at the state fire service, Engineer Martin Agbili said that they received distress call about a fire incident at the filling station and moved immediately to put out the fire.
Engineer Agbili who regretted that tanker havoc have become a recurrent decimal in Onitsha noted that a tanker was trying to trans-load premium motor spirit to an underground tank in the filling station when the fire started and called on tanker drivers to always ensure that their vehicles are in order even as he called on the public to avoid things that will cause fire as harmattan is back.
Also speaking, an eyewitness of the incident, Mr. Okey Omenife commended the state fire service for a job well done, as according to him, the fir service officials were highly responsible in averting what could have resulted to a great loss in the area.

Our Correspondent, who covered the fire incident reports that one pump in the filling station and tyres of the tanker were affected by the fire while the petrol in the tanker was still intact.
