Vampire not behind Imo kidnap-Imo Police PRO

www.odogwublog.com reports that Imo State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Andrew Enwerem has allayed fears that wanted alleged kidnap kingpin on the run, Henry Chibueze popularly known as Vampire is behind the kidnap attempt of a yet to be identified businessman whisked away on Sunday night.
An armed gang had at about 8pm on Sunday, January 29th laid siege at Maris junction in Ikenegbu, Owerri where it double-crossed a car, shot the driver twice in the leg and abducted the businessman in the car.
Imo Police PRO, Enwerem said "oh no it cant be possible for a wanted person to come out immediately to do crime. No it cant be possible that Chibueze has returned to do crime in Owerri".
He explained that the Police is yet to be briefed on the kidnap incident but added that there was information that there was a shooting incident at Maris junction.
Enwerem assured that Imo is safe and encouraged people to go about their business peacefully.
Sources said that the driver and his boss had just left Samsung Plaza Ikenegbu when the armed men traced and followed them to Maris junction.
An anonymous source said after the driver was forced to stop and stepped down from the car, he started arguing with the armed men, an action that made them shoot his two legs. Thereafter, they forced the alleged businessman into another vehicle and zoomed off.
Imo residents became apprehensive of the incident following the escape of Chibueze from custody when his gang members facilitated his escape at the Owerri High Court premises last Friday when he went for trial over a foiled kidnap attempt of a Judge.
Residents even on social media have been asking if the kidnap incident was spearheaded by Chibueze, to announce his freedom from incarceration.
Meanwhile, the driver of the car who sustained gun shot injuries has been taken to the Hospital for medical treatment.
