Governor Ikpeazu To Spend Excess Loan Deduction Refund on Salaries and Infrastructure - Abia State House of Assembly


Abia State House of Assembly has approved the Request by the Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu  to spend the excess loan deduction refund of N10.6b.

The Governor in a request earlier sent to the State House of Assembly proposed to spend the Loan Deduction refund as stated below;

1. N5.3b to be spent on paying Salary and pension arrears.
2. N1.7b on road infrastructure.
3. N2.5b on bridges.
4. N685m on Hospitals
5. N200m for street lighting.

The house met later under the leadership of new Speaker, Hon. Chinwendu Kanu (PDP, Isiala Ngwa South) and gave the governor approval to spend as stated above.

The Governor  during a media chat with the people earlier today on BCA stated that he will construct a flyover bridge at Osisioma junction of Enugu-PH highway to enable proper channeling of traffic and ease gridlocks at that key entry point.

Governor Ikpeazu also assured Abians that if the NDDC Contractor fails to commence the work early next year at Ohanku road Aba his government will take over the road and execute palliative measures.
