250 Anambra Youths demand Obiano ‘s intervention on his promise to them

www.odogwublog.com reports that two hundred and fifty (250) youths of Anambra State, who were trained at the State’s College of Agriculture, Mgbakwu, in Awka South LGA, in Fish Production, Poultry and Piggery, are angry with Governor Willie Obiano for abandoning them.
They appealed to Obiano to look inwards and discover those sabotaging his policies on youths and sack them before it boomerangs.
They therefore called on Governor Willie Obiano, to come to their rescue by providing them with seed money, as he promised them at the inception of their training, so that they would be able to establish their own farms, since they have since concluded their trainings in the various fields of agriculture.

In a letter titled: “Request to Hear from the Governor on Anambra Youth Empowerment Agricultural Training on Live-Stock Production at Mgbakwu in 2015”, and signed by the trio of Innocent Obagha, Nsorah Obianuju and Onuorah Magnus,  and later Fidelia Ochife for and on behalf of the trainees, and made available to www.odogwublog.com  the group reminded Governor Obiano of the promise he made to them at the inception of the training that he would assist them with seed money to be able to start-up their own farms after the training.

The group further stated that since the conclusion of the training, they “neither saw Obiano nor the money promised them”.

“Sir, on the day of our inauguration, you gave us your word that after the training, seed money shall be given to us for a start-up. After several months of your promise, the 250 trainees were invited to the ADP to group ourselves into clusters and to provide our data.

“While in the training, the governor informed that our cheques are ready. We were reliably told that millions of naira was mapped out for the empowerment of the trainees; but these excellent goodies meant for us by His Excellency, has not gotten to us.

“After our first letter to this effect, dated 21st June, 2016, His Excellency direct one Mr. Primus Odili to look into our agitation; but till date, nothing is heard about our empowerment”, the letter read.
The group regretted that, to be able to access the seed money, government had attached conditions which, according to them, none of the trainees would be able to meet.
