www.odogwublog.com reports that the Anambra state government weekend announced complete ban on the use of commercial motorcycles popularly known as Okada after 7pm across the state.
The release signed by Ogbuefi Tony Nnachetta, Honourable
Commissioner For Information And Communication Strategy on behalf of the state
Governor , Chief Willie Obiano adds that the security agencies are on standby
to enforce this ban with immediate effect.
It said the state remains a peaceful and secure state and
the order remains in line to maintain and improve on the current security
situation in the state.
It enjoined Ndi Anambra to plan their movements accordingly.
Meanwhile , this is coming as the Acting Director, State
Ministry of Information and Communication Strategy, Mrs Obiageliaku Umeadi,
says the Ministry has become ICT-compliant.
Mrs. Umeadi stated this while inaugurating additional
laptops and other ICT equipment purchased for the Information Unit of the Ministry
to enhance news production and faster processing of stories by Information
Officers, noting with satisfaction that the Ministry has gone digital.
She thanked the Commissioner for Information and
Communication Strategy, Ogbuefi Tony Nnachetta for the ongoing transformation
being witnessed in the Ministry.
She also thanked the Permanent Secretary, of the Ministry ,
Mr Benjamin Umerah for his commitment and support to them.
The Acting Director also commended Governor Willie Obiano
for his all round support to the Ministry.
Mrs. Umeadi, urged all the Information officers across the
State to put in more effort to ensure that the work is done with expertise.
The Special Assistance to the Governor on Media, Mr. Tony
Nezianya in the Information Ministry also expressed excitement towards the kind
gesture .
