Nnewi roads to be completed before rainy Season, says Obiano

Governor Willie Obiano says his government is working to complete the one hundred kilometers of road it is undertaking in Nnewi Urban before the next rainy season.
The six point seven kilometer road was awarded by the previous administration under Governor Peter Obi and since then work was stalled.
The Governor was speaking when he inspected asphalting work on Coscharis road, Nnewi.
During the visit, asphalting was ongoing while earthwork has already been achieved on a reasonable length.

Speaking after inspecting the project, Governor Obiano said the road is part of the Nnewi Urban roads which his administration is doing, adding that the State government is not owing the contractor on any certificate generated.
He further revealed that the contractor has been directed to henceforth focus on asphalting the already primed roads, to ensure that they do not cause erosion challenges when the rains come.
The Governor assured Ndi Nnewi that he will complete all the projects remaining in the area as well as commence new ones.
The contractor handling the project, Prince Chuma Okolo who revealed that they have completed the Akamili end of the urban roads, assured that the Coscharis road will be fully asphalted in two weeks time.
