FGC Okigwe Principal , Mrs Rose Ihezue in trouble for starving students over N5000 insurance levy

www.odogwublog.com reports that the management of the Federal Government College (FGC), Okigwe, has been accused of starving students  since January 6 for failing to pay N5,000.00 insurance levy.
A concerned parent who said two of his children were victims of the school's " cruelty" " also described the levy as illegal.
Addressing news men in Umuahia, Mr. Martins Nwokedi decried the action of the school management, and called on the Federal Government to quickly intervene.
He said he decided to bring the matter to public  domain  as all appeals to the school Principal to relax the " evil policy" fell on deaf ears.
The visibly agitated Nwokedi who explained that his children were not indebted to the college of any fees, also accused the principal of refusing to register his son for "junior WAEC".
" My kids only depend on their beverages and sometimes I send food to them", Mr. Nwokedi lamented.
He accused the Principal Mrs. Rose Ihezue, and her Vice in charge of Students Affairs, Mr. Iroegbu Udoka, of deliberately frustrating efforts to dialogue with parents over the impasse.
He said that the National Parent Teachers Association of Federal Unity Schools had already petitioned President Muhammadu Buhari over the ugly development.
A copy of the petition  written by its  counsel, Chibuike Nwekeukwu & Associates, which he brandished, read in part: In Re:" Illegal and unauthorized imposition of insurance levy on students of the 104 Unity Schools in Nigeria an act likely to cause a breach of the peace and break down of law and order."
Nwokedi said " as a parent I am deeply concerned about the condition of the students, who by no fault of theirs have been made to go through such agonizing experience".
Meanwhile, some staff of the school called the bluff of journalists who went to the Principal  for her reactions on the allegation as they prevented them from speaking with her.
When reminded of the implications of their action the Principal wanted to speak with the journalists but the  staff insisted she should not comment claiming that " as a civil servant" she was not permitted to speak with the press.
They chased the journalists out saying " they can go and write what they want, we have seen their type".
