www.odogwublog.com reports that over thirty three members of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign States of Biafra (MASSOB) were arrested at different locations in Abia and Delta states over the weekend while heading to the venue of this year's Odimegu Ojukwu memorial ceremony at Owerri, the Imo State Capital. The group's national director on publicity,Chris Muocha disclosed this to newsmen while the ceremony was on.
According to Muocha, eighteen of the members were arrested at Delta while fifteen was arrested in Abia state for allegedly brandishing and in possession of Biafra insignia .
Meanwhile, this year's ceremony despite the arrest of some members of the group recorded a success as notable politicians such as the founder of the Oodua Peoples Congress(OPC) Dr Frederick Fasheun and the national chairman of the Arewa Youth Congress(AYC) Alhaji Yerima Shetima were all present.
Others are,Alhahi Al Hassan Mustapha and wife of the late Biafran warlord,Lady Bianca Ojukwu as well as other highly placed personalities were present at the occasion .
Shetima, speaking at the occasion described both Igbo and Hausa tribes as one. He exonerated MASSOB, from the Indigenes People of Biafra(IPOB)  describing it as  more peaceful.
He further posited that the action of the Federal Government to proscribed IPOB is not enough as he urged the government to quicken action to bring all the members to face the law .
Shetima said," it is not enough to proscribed IPOB,they should face the warrant of law, government should take a proper action,if it fails to act now,it may amount to social suicide"
While calling on the Igbo social groups to calm down,he also appealed to them to go through a due process.
He said "it is not Only the Igbos that are marginalised,go to the core north and see how they are leaving in penury,it is not thier fault,it is the system that has failed us,so we should be united to get out of this instead of fighting each other"
Mustapha in his own speech urged Ndigbo not to misconstrue what Ojukwu fought for noting that Ojukwu stood for morality and integrity.
Uwazuruike in his closing remarks vowed that MASOB will remain non violent in Its struggle and promised to sustain the legacies  of Ojukwu
