www.odogwublog.com reports that the Imo State Police Commannd yesterday paraded a police Corporal,Jude Madu,32 and six other suspects for allegedly kidnapping and killing a catholic priest, Rev father Cyriacus Onunkwo on September,1. The state Commissioner of Police,Chris Ezike who gave the other names of the suspects to include Izuchukwu Okafor ,28, from Anambra state,popularly known as Small ,Onyema Cyril,29 from Onuimo LGA of the state,Emmanuel Ozoigbo ,29 from Enugu state, Victor Iroakanzi ,33 from Obowo LGA of the state, and Ifechukwu Nwosu,28 from Anambra state   while briefing journalists noted that the order by the IGP,Idris to fish out the perpetrators led to the quick arrest of the suspects.
Narrating how the suspects were rounded up,the CP said that his visit to the deceased family and the parish were the late priest officiate on the directive of the IGP got remarkable coporation especially by residents who he said provided useful information that led to their arrest.
He revealed that the police corporal ,Madu from Umuikishi ,Amuze/Ahiara in Ahiazu Mbaise LGA of the state who has now been dismissed is  a member of the armed robbery/kidnapping syndicate that killed the priest. Madu according to the CP was arrested on September ,5 at Control post,Owerri in possession of the late priest's phone and has already confessed to the crime.
One of the suspects,Ikechukwu ,a disable ,according to the CP arrested on September,6, owned the Toyota Avalon   used in the operation .
CP Ezike revealed further that according to their investigation,the late priest was said to have been gaged to death having being tied up and dumped in the car trunk used in the operation.
Similarly,Ezike also announced the arrest of a 5 man gang that kidnapped and subsequently collected the sum of N4 million ransom from a popular gospel artist ,Chinedu Nwadike recently.
A separate kidnap gang of 4 who kidnapped Johnbosco Okoro and Njoku Emeka were also paraded by the command.
